We are trying something new this Summer that will hopefully be helpful to you, our incredible group of Colorado agents and brokers. It's our Storm Data Report.
We know that you likely don't follow the weather quite like we do, but storms can definitely impact your listings and homes under contract. Whether it's hail or wind, damaged roofs are frequent occurrences out here.
We track storm data and receive reports on areas that get hit with hail. These come in the form of hail maps. What these maps show are the relative size and rough location of the hail. Once we start seeing orange and darker, that's usually a big cause for concern.
Now, these maps aren't perfect so it's important for us to tie in in-person reports, too. But, it does help us to get a basic idea of where there's likely damage and where we should start.
Here's where this will be of use to you:
- Check to see if any of your listings are in the highlighted areas
- Same thing with any homes you have under contract for buyers
- If you have buyers looking in these areas, be aware that a storm has hit and it might be a good idea to get us up on the roof even prior to the home inspector
- Use it as an opportunity to reach out to past clients who live in these areas. Everyone knows the easiest sale is a repeat client!
Every member of our team works in the field. If we do get hit with a big storm this Summer, you can be confident in our ability to handle the workload. Do yourself and your clients a favor and get us involved ASAP after a storm. That allows us as much time as possible to work the insurance process and minimizes the fire drill leading up to closing.
For now, our primary focus will be on the Denver market (basically Castle Rock up to Boulder/Longmont). We do, however, travel farther if there's good work to be had. We've even done builds in the past month up in Silverthorne and Glenwood Springs! We will let you know if we get too swamped.
Thanks for allowing us to be a part of your network!!
