Lap siding is the classic horizontal profile. It works on almost any architectural style and tends to be the safe, timeless choice. Board and batten is vertical with raised battens between boards, and it gives the home a modern farmhouse or mountain modern feel. A lot of our best projects mix both, with lap on main walls and board and batten on gables or accent sections.

We can do both. Hardie comes with a factory-applied ColorPlus finish that's baked on, UV resistant, and warrantied for 15 years against fading, chipping, and peeling. You can also choose primed Hardie if you want a custom paint color, and unlike vinyl, Hardie can be repainted as often as you want without damaging the material.

If budget is the concern, we'll work with you on financing or phasing the project before we steer you toward a product we don't believe in.

We also install steel siding and stucco when it's the right fit. Steel is durable and fire resistant. Stucco works well for homes that already have it or for buyers who want that specific look. For most projects, Hardie offers the best balance of performance, aesthetics, and long-term value, which is why we lead with it. If steel or stucco makes sense for your home, we'll tell you.

If your home is in a Wildland-Urban Interface zone, the rules just changed.

Colorado adopted a new Wildfire Resiliency Code in 2025, and other states are following. These codes increasingly require Class A non-combustible siding when you replace it. That rules out vinyl, wood, and most composites.
